Black Actors Pay Tribute to Trayvon Martin: “Little Black Boy Wonder”

Inspired by Black Boy Wonder Poem

Down A Mountain

Their stories
were entrenched in the echo of pain
long lived.
Today I stood before a mirror
that did not belong to me
and the reflection startled me.
I looked in as a woman
but stared out as a Black Man.
but willing to slice
into scars
long silenced and abandoned
and recount pain
today with two hands
I covered my mouth
holding my breath
and blinking back truth
that burned down my cheeks.
