The 4th

Every year on the 4th of July, I feel conflicted about Independence Day and what was going on for African Americans at the time of the signing.   Many people on FaceBook were voices their opinions about the day and sharing why they celebrate the day and  why they don’t.   I decided to write a poem to express my feelings.
