#Blackgirlmagic #poetry

During Black History Month, I was invited to read a poem and the theme of the event was Black Magic.  I loved the message behind Black Girl Magic so I decided to write about the struggles I’ve witnessed and endured as a Black Girl whose magic was treated like a curse. After I wrote and performed the poem, I began asking some of my sister friends and family to tell me what their Black Girl Magic is…  The video is the outcome of their beautifully uplifting answers.

Thank you for watching.
